THE WHITE HEATHER HORNETS FOOTBALL CLUB
A (Very) Brief History
Founded in the summer of 1984 by a bunch drunken reprobates who should have known better! Richie Combes, Paul Wyeth, Andy Hanlon, Paul Deem, Dave Thorburn, Paul Nye, Rich Cowley, Phil Yeomans, Andy Lane, to name but a few...................(email any more info to the site). The original club name was Dudsbury Hornets (As our local at the time was the Horns Inn at Dudsbury, thanks for the name to John Graham the landlord at the time). The team was entered in Bournemouth Sunday Division 8, we remained as the Dudsbury Hornets until moving to the Angel Inn in 1987 (name changed to Angel Hornets) and went on to win the Division 7 title in 1988. Soon after this we moved to the White Heather in Ferndown.,winning the Elizabeth Cup in 1999. Division 3 runners-up in Season 2004, we also won the Bankes Senior Cup in this season. We are now running just one team in Bournemouth Sunday Division 8.
